Lactation Consulting

At Frisco Feeding & Speech Therapy, we acknowledge the journey to motherhood and offer lactation consulting services both prenatal and postpartum. Evidence-based information combined with a holistic and integrated approach allow our lactation consultants to educate and empower mothers and their families. Whether you have questions pertaining to infant development, or your baby is having difficulty nursing, accepting a bottle, or pumping seems daunting when returning to work, our lactation consultants share similar journeys and can provide individualized care to support you in this transition of life.

Who would benefit from Lactation Consultation?

Our lactation consultants are dual-certified and can treat the most complex cases in infant feeding and swallowing. Our SLP/IBCLCs are trained in issues impacting the transfer to milk from mother to baby, and infant feeding disorders related to the timing and coordination needed for an effective/efficient swallow.

Our SLP/IBCLC therapists support: Premature infants, infants discharged from the NICU, bottle refusal/aversion, breast refusal, latching & positioning, return to work pump/feeding schedules, tongue-tie difficulties, re-lactation, increasing milk supply, managing maternal challenges (clogs, blebs, mastitis), managing oversupply, weaning from nursing, nasogastric (NG-tube) weaning, gastrotomy (G-tube) weaning, and oral-motor/swallowing challenges.

Call today for a free phone consultation or fill out our Enrollment Request Form.

I believe every child has endless potential and is not defined by their area of need.   Fostering individual change is possible when a therapist is passionate about their calling and given the resources to implement their expertise.  In this way we will positively change the course of life for the children and families we service.
